A Director with 40 years of experience, Steve recently transitioned to Office Manager at YIB. He now focuses on technical mentoring and complex troubleshooting. Outside of work, he is a dedicated water sportsman and retired underwater hockey player.

An insurance lover with over 30 years of experience, Ian focuses on trust and “delivering the promise” through expert claims management. As a leader at YIB, he is dedicated to igniting greatness in his team and fostering an exceptional culture.

The 2025 NIBA QLD Young Broker of the Year, Emily joined YIB in 2011. A Senior Account Executive, she specializes in construction, mining, and complex risks. Outside of work, she enjoys competitive sports and beach days with her family and boxer dog.

Katelind joined YIB in 2013, leveraging an accounting and business background to identify unique risks. A fierce advocate at claim time, she specializes in manufacturing, strata, and trades. Outside work, she enjoys hiking and property investing.

With 20 years in insurance and law, Abbey is a Senior Broker at YIB specializing in complex, high-hazard risks. Detail-driven and a fierce advocate, she delivers tailored solutions with calm, straight-talking advice. She enjoys DIY and martial arts.

With over two decades of experience, Katrina joined YIB in 2021 as a results-driven Account Executive. She provides tailored solutions and expert guidance for diverse industries. Outside work, she enjoys wheelchair basketball and world travel.

Zoey joined YIB in 2021, bringing a unique perspective from her background with an insurance builder. With a Bachelor of Commerce, she supports Senior Managers with technical expertise and care. She enjoys rugby league, the beach, and traveling.

Brooke is an emerging broker with three years of experience and a client-first approach. Known for her reliability and attention to detail, she ensures clients feel supported. Outside work, she enjoys baking, travel, and spending time with her dog.

Kimberley joined YIB in 2022, bringing a strong legal background to her role as an Assistant. Supporting Ian and Katrina, she provides detail-oriented care and clear advice to clients. Outside work, she enjoys hiking, the gym, and family time.

With 24+ years of international experience across the UK, Canada, NZ, and Australia, Laura is a Senior Account Executive at YIB. She specializes in policy coverage and claims advocacy. Outside work, she enjoys travel, family time, and new foods.

With 12+ years in insurance, Amelia is a trusted YIB broker blending local insight with a personable touch. She specializes in tailored commercial solutions for regional clients. Outside work, she enjoys art, travel, and walking her friend’s dog.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Lauren has supported YIB clients since 2008. Working with Abbey, she ensures a stress-free experience through her organized and caring approach. Outside work, she enjoys the beach, arts, and cooking Asian fusion.

Taryn joined YIB in 2025 with over 15 years of industry experience. A specialist in SME risks, she is known for her strong advocacy, humor, and down-to-earth approach. Outside of work, she enjoys the beach, the local pub, and walks with her dog, Mabel.
