Steve has been a key member of the insurance industry since 1985, with over 40 years of experience and over 25 years as part of the YIB team. As one of the company’s directors, Steve has played a pivotal role in building YIB into the trusted brokerage it is today, combining technical expertise with a commitment to exceptional client service.
Before joining YIB in 1998, Steve worked with SGIO/Suncorp, gaining extensive experience in insurance underwriting and claims. His deep industry knowledge and hands-on approach have allowed him to build longstanding relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry peers alike. Known for his integrity, problem-solving skills, and passion for getting claims paid, Steve ensures every interaction is professional, transparent, and client-focused.
While he has recently transitioned from a client-facing role to Office Manager, Steve remains actively involved in technical matters, mentoring the team, and troubleshooting complex insurance issues.
Outside of work, Steve is a water enthusiast — whether it’s spearfishing, fishing, surfing, or swimming. He is also a recently retired Queensland Masters Underwater Hockey player (No, they don’t play with long sticks and scuba tanks, you might need to Google it!)
